Film Maker

Maahirii started out with her passion for photography and finally took up filmmaking in 2013. She started with short films and then moved on to music videos, musical shorts and finally feature films. Her first short film “Doya Kore” was an official selection in the Kolkata International Children’s Film Festival. Later her musical short “Meri Jaan” featuring danseuse & actress Malabika Sen won the Special Mention Award at the Noida International Film Festival. Her debut feature film “Bhagshesh”, written and directed by her, had won many awards and official selections at international film festivals across the globe. Her current short film “Sazaa” is making rounds at the film festivals and has already bagged quite a few international and national festival awards and official selections. Maahirii conceptualizes, directs, shoots, edits and colours the music videos of many celebrated artists and is known for her unique touch of creativity and concept in each.
